The Abidjan leg of The African Roadshow marked another important milestone in the growing movement to strengthen economic cooperation between Africa and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Hosted as part of the Africa-GCC Council’s wider mission to connect investors, businesses, institutions and policymakers, the gathering brought together members of the diplomatic corps, government representatives, ministries, employers’ organisations, professional bodies, public institutions, private sector leaders, investors and entrepreneurs.
The strong turnout reflected a shared ambition to build a more structured, sustainable and forward-looking economic corridor between Africa and the GCC. As Gulf economies continue to deepen their global investment footprint, Africa’s expanding markets, infrastructure needs, innovation potential and entrepreneurial growth present a powerful opportunity for long-term partnership.

Through the Africa-GCC Council, the initiative is seeking to create a strategic platform where capital, policy and enterprise can meet around a common vision: unlocking investment, accelerating cross-border cooperation and positioning Africa as a central partner in the next phase of Gulf-led global economic engagement. The momentum now moves towards a historic milestone: the Africa Pavilion at AIM Congress 2026, taking place from 7–9 September 2026 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. For the first time, Africa will be represented through a common pavilion, showcasing investment opportunities, structuring projects, innovation and the continent’s economic potential to a global audience of investors, policymakers and business leaders.
The Abidjan meeting therefore stands as more than a roadshow stop. It represents a clear signal that Africa–GCC cooperation is moving from conversation to structure, from opportunity to action, and from bilateral interest to a coordinated economic platform.
Stakeholders, investors and institutions are invited to join the Africa-GCC Council at AIM Congress 2026 in Dubai as Africa takes its place at one of the world’s leading investment platforms.
