“African hospitality is positivity.” That’s how Eddy Tannous, Chief Operating Officer of Rotana Hotels, finished the sentence when Pan African Voice sat down with him at FHS World 2026 in Dubai.
Rotana runs five hotels in Africa today and has a pipeline of around 15 more, about 4,000 keys in total. Tannous calls the expansion “a very natural growth” for a regional brand that has now earned recognition across the continent. Within ten years, he wants Rotana to have at least one or two of its brands in every major African city. He also wants the group to do more in experiential travel, because “there’s so much to see there.” He told us that what stays with him from every African market he visits is “a sense of positivity that is contagious.”
